The NigerianMaritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Director General, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, has called on the Muslim ummah and all Nigerians to uphold the spirit of sacrifice, love and national unity as the nation marks the 2026 Eid al-Adha celebration.

In his goodwill message to NIMASA staff, maritime stakeholders and the wider Muslim community, Dr. Mobereola said the season serves as a reminder of profound devotion and obedience exemplified in the story of Prophet Ibrahim.

“This season reminds us yet again of the importance of sacrifice, as exemplified by the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command,” he said. “Let us embody this in our daily affairs by showing love to one another, exhibiting patriotism to our nation and remaining devoted to the teachings of Allah.”

The NIMASA DG extended his warm wishes to Nigerians, particularly those contributing to the nation’s maritime industry and Blue Economy growth.

“Eid Mubarak to our valued staff and stakeholders. May this blessed celebration bring peace and joy,” he stated. “Thank you for your commitment and dedication to the development of the maritime industry and expansion of the Blue Economy agenda.”

Dr. Mobereola also urged citizens to reflect on the values that define the season, empathy, charity, communal unity and sacrifice and work collectively toward building a safer, stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
