The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria has bestowed its prestigious Merit Award (Members Diamond Category) on the President of the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association Nigeria, Dr. Odunayo Ani, celebrating her outstanding contributions to the accounting profession and national development.
Dr. Ani, who also serves as Director of Financial Services at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, received the honour at a ceremony attended by leading figures in the accounting community, family members, and professional associates in Lagos.
In her remarks, Dr. Ani described the award as ‘humbling and inspiring’, adding that it reflects not only past accomplishments but a renewed call to uphold excellence, integrity, professionalism, and service to humanity.
“I am deeply honoured and sincerely grateful to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria for conferring on me the ICAN Merit Award in the Members Diamond Category,” she said.
She extended special appreciation to several ICAN leaders, including:

Dr. Ani dedicated the award to God, her family, colleagues, mentors, and everyone who has supported her professional journey.
