The Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, has announced key appointments and redeployments within the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) following the statutory retirement of several senior officers.
These changes, made to enhance strategic service delivery, reflect the NCS’s commitment to maintaining a high standard of leadership and operational efficiency.
In a statement released on Friday, the NCS provided a detailed breakdown of the new appointments.
BM Jibo has been appointed as the Deputy Comptroller General (DCG) in charge of Finance Administration and Technical Services (FATS).
OA Alajogun will serve as the Acting DCG for Enforcement, Inspection, and Investigation (EI&I).
Additionally, IG Umar has been named Acting Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) at the NCS Headquarters, while OA Salefu will oversee Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC).
Acting ACG. BA Makinde has been appointed Acting ACG for Human Resource Development (HRD), and T Bomodi will take up the role of Acting ACG for Enforcement, Inspection, and Investigation (EI&I).
The CGC praised the newly appointed officers, emphasizing that their appointments reflect their exemplary service and dedication to the Nigeria Customs Service.
He urged them to intensify their efforts to achieve the NCS’s core mandates, which include revenue generation, smuggling suppression, and trade facilitation.
Adeniyi also extended his gratitude to the retired members of the management team for their meritorious service, highlighting the significant contributions they made to the NCS during their tenure.
The appointments are effective immediately and are aimed at ensuring the NCS continues to deliver optimal performance in its critical roles within Nigeria’s economic and security frameworks.
