In his inaugural address today, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, the newly appointed Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), articulated his vision to steer the agency towards becoming a purpose-driven organization. Central to his approach is a commitment to effective communication at all levels, fostering innovation, collaboration, and synergy within the maritime sector.
Dr. Mobereola emphasized the paramount importance of safety, security, efficiency, and environmental sustainability in NIMASA’s operations. He underscored the need for adaptability to technological advancements, evolving market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks within the maritime industry.
Recognizing the potential for greatness within the organization, Dr. Mobereola pledged to invest in staff development, processes, and the entire system to fulfill NIMASA’s mandate effectively. He outlined his intention to cultivate an environment that nurtures employees’ skills, talents, and creativity, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Expressing gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the trust placed in him, Dr. Mobereola committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, diligence, and service to the nation. He also thanked Minister Adegboyega Oyetola for his guidance and expressed readiness to collaborate closely to achieve the ministry’s objectives for the maritime sector.
Earlier, Mr. Chudi Offodile, the Agency’s Executive Director of Finance and Administration, along with other Management staff, welcomed Dr. Mobereola, pledging their cooperation for the success of NIMASA under his leadership.
Dr. Dayo Mobereola, a seasoned professional in transport economics, brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as Managing Director of Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) and Commissioner for Transportation in Lagos State.
His appointment, approved by President Tinubu, marks a renewed focus on innovation, efficiency, and purpose-driven leadership within NIMASA.
