MARAN Organizes Breakfast Meeting Uniting Maritime Giants to Enhance Electronic Call-up System Efficiency

In a significant development for Nigeria’s maritime industry, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Nigerian Shippers Council, Trucks Transit Parks (TTP), and various other key associations are set to participate in a Breakfast Meeting organized by the Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN). The focus of the event is the Electronic Call-up System, commonly known as Eto.

Prominent attendees include the Barge Operators Association of Nigeria (BOAN), Lagos State Cargo and Transport Committee (LASTCOC), National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), Nexus Association of Maritime Transport Operators (NAMTOP), and the Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO), among others.

The gathering will also include operators of licensed truck holding bays by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Export Processing Terminals (EPT). The Breakfast Meeting aims to address challenges hindering the efficiency of the Electronic Call System (Eto) and propose solutions.

Mr. Godfrey Bivbere, the President of MARAN, assured stakeholders of the event’s success and urged their participation. Emphasizing MARAN’s commitment to fostering industry growth, he highlighted the association’s role as a critical stakeholder in the maritime sector.

Scheduled for Thursday, March 7, 2024, the event will take place at Rockview Hotel in Apapa, Lagos. Stakeholders anticipate constructive discussions and collaborative efforts to enhance the effectiveness of the Electronic Call-up System in the nation’s seaports.
