The Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) is set to host a strategic breakfast meeting focused on trade facilitation, aligning with President Tinubu’s economic agenda. The event will take place on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Rockview Hotel, Apapa, Lagos, commencing at 10:00 a.m.
Themed “Trade Facilitation and President Tinubu’s Economic Agenda: Matters Arising, Comrade Fadipe Moses Olayemi, Founder and CEO of Skynet Trueway International Limited and Consultant for CBI/MACN West Africa, will preside over the meeting.
According to a press statement signed by MARAN President Mr. Godfrey Bivbere, the event aims to bring together key maritime stakeholders to discuss the strategic alignment of trade facilitation measures with President Tinubu’s economic policies.
Prominent figures in the maritime industry are expected to attend, including Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, and Barrister Pius Akutah, Executive Secretary and CEO of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council. Dr. Muda Yusuf, CEO of the Centre for the Promotion of Public Enterprise, will deliver the keynote address, while Mr. Lucky Eyis Amiwero, National President of the National Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Customs Agents, will deliver goodwill messages.
Mr. Bivbere emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between governmental bodies and private sector stakeholders in fostering an environment conducive to trade. He encouraged stakeholders to come together, share insights, and develop strategies that align with national economic goals.
