The Nigeria Customs Service Board (NCSB) has confirmed the appointment of key officials during its 59th regular meeting, held on Tuesday.
Chaired by the Honorable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, the meeting saw the appointment of five Deputy Comptrollers-General (DCGs) and eight Assistant Comptrollers-General (ACGs) of Customs.
Among the newly appointed DCGs are OO PETERS, BM JIBO, BU NWANFOR, SA BOMAI, and CK NIAGWAN. Their respective portfolios range from commanding training and doctrine to enforcement, excise, and tariff management.
Additionally, eight new ACGs were announced, including B IMAM, AAS OLOYEDE, SK DANGALDIMA, A ABDUL AZEEZ, SA YUSUF, NP UMOH, CO OBIH, and S CHIROMA. These officers will serve in various capacities such as trade and tariff, human resource development, and strategic research and policy.
The appointments, guided by the principles of federal character, seniority, and merit, aim to fill vacancies created by recent retirements within the service.
In a press statement signed by the National Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Maiwada, the NCS emphasized its commitment to effective and efficient service delivery, citing the officers’ exemplary service and dedication.
“These appointments are a testament to the officers’ exemplary services and dedication to the Nigeria Customs Service. The NCSB remains committed to providing strategic leadership to ensure effective and efficient service delivery for optimum performance, ” the NCS statement read.
Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, expressed gratitude to retired management members for their meritorious service.
He congratulated the newly confirmed officers and urged them to redouble their efforts in revenue generation, suppression of smuggling, and trade facilitation.
