Half a Century Later, St. Patrick’s Salutes Mobereola’s Legacy of Guidance

The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola, has been honoured with an Award of Recognition by his alma mater, St. Patrick’s Grammar School, Ibadan, for his impactful mentorship and longstanding commitment to youth development.
The award was presented during the school’s 64th Founders’ Day celebration in Ibadan, where Dr. Mobereola joined fellow alumni, staff, and stakeholders to commemorate the institution’s decades-long legacy of excellence.
Expressing gratitude for the gesture, Dr. Mobereola said the recognition holds deep personal meaning, describing his return to the school as “a flood of nostalgic memories.”
“Fifty years after walking through those gates where many of my formative years were shaped, I remain deeply grateful for the friendships, the support of teachers, and the strong bond shared with classmates. I sincerely appreciate the Old Boys’ Association for this honour. I do not take it for granted,” he said.
He reaffirmed his dedication to mentoring the younger generation, noting that positive role models and guidance are critical in shaping future leaders.
“I remain committed to serving as a role model to the younger generation and to mentoring young men as they navigate their own paths,” he added.
Dr. Mobereola encouraged current students to stay focused, disciplined, and committed to excellence, stressing that with the right mindset and mentorship, success is within reach.
