The Commissioner of Police Olanrewaju Olawale Ishola, head of the Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, has extended warm greetings to stakeholders and the business community, particularly the Muslim faithful.
In a statement issued today, CP Ishola assured that robust security measures have been implemented to ensure a peaceful and secure environment in and around the nation’s ports during the festive period.
He emphasized that comprehensive human, material, and operational resources have been strategically deployed to cover the Western Ports Area, which includes Apapa Port, Tincan Island Port, Lekki Deep-Sea Port, and various lighter terminals.
Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and specialized units, such as the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and Canine (K9) units, have been mobilized, placing their crime prevention assets on high alert.
Additionally, the Ports Police Marine Department has been tasked with patrolling port perimeters to prevent any unauthorized access via waterways.
CP Ishola encouraged the public to embrace the principles of sacrifice, peace, and love central to the Eid-el-Kabir celebration. He also urged vigilance and prompt reporting of any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
