The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Area Command, has smashed its previous single-day revenue record, raking in a staggering ₦28.1 billion in just 24 hours.
The Command generated ₦28,102,000,914.61 on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, surpassing its previous record of ₦20.1 billion achieved in September 2025, shortly after the assumption of office of the Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba.
The latest feat comes barely weeks after Apapa Customs posted an unprecedented ₦323 billion monthly revenue collection in July 2026, reinforcing the Command’s growing reputation as a major revenue powerhouse of the Nigeria Customs Service.
The Command attributed the sustained performance to improved compliance, enhanced trade facilitation, intelligence-driven interventions, automation, digital Customs processes and the implementation of ongoing reforms across the Service.
Reacting to the record-breaking collection, Oshoba said the achievement goes beyond revenue figures, stressing that every legitimate transaction has a wider impact on the Nigerian economy.
“This milestone is not just about breaking a revenue record. It is about what that revenue represents for the government and the people of Nigeria.”
He added that Customs revenue contributes to the resources available to government for the provision of critical infrastructure, security, education, healthcare and other public services.
“Every compliant transaction contributes to national development. When businesses comply and legitimate trade thrives, government has greater capacity to meet its responsibilities to the people.”
The CAC dedicated the latest milestone to the government and people of Nigeria, while commending the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, PhD, and the management team of the command.
