The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Tincan Island Port Command, has honoured exceptional officers while announcing that it surpassed its 2025 revenue target with a record collection of ₦1.6 trillion.
The recognition ceremony, held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the Command headquarters in Lagos, highlighted major operational strides under the leadership of Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Frank Onyeka.
Onyeka revealed that the Command exceeded its ₦1.524 trillion revenue benchmark for 2025, describing the milestone as a significant improvement over previous years.
“This achievement is a product of collective effort, enhanced efficiency and transparency. A tree can never make a forest. I could not have done it alone. Officers deserve appreciation for their tireless efforts,” he said.
He noted that the awards ceremony reflected a renewed culture within the Service to recognise diligence, professionalism and shared responsibility across all units.
The CAC also outlined several operational reforms introduced to boost trade facilitation, including measures to eliminate unnecessary delays in file processing.
“Upon assumption of office, I made it clear that files should not be held unnecessarily. If there are issues, let them be clearly identified and addressed. If you are not sure what to do, ask,” he said.

Onyeka further stated that the recently launched Time Release Study report by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, had reinforced the Command’s commitment to fast-tracking legitimate trade while maintaining strict regulatory compliance.
He commended his predecessor, Deputy Comptroller-General Dera Nnadi, describing his tenure as “superb” and noting that it laid the foundation for the Command’s recent accomplishments.
The Customs chief also expressed gratitude to the Comptroller-General, stakeholders, partners and officers for maintaining confidence in the Command amid economic and operational pressures.
