The management of the National Single Window (NSW) has announced the establishment of a fully equipped Support Centre in Apapa, Lagos, as part of its efforts to ensure a smooth transition for port users following the official go-live of Nigeria’s digital trade facilitation platform.
The NSW platform, which became operational last Friday, just days after its formal launch earlier in the week, represents one of the most significant reforms introduced by the Federal Government to modernize port processes, enhance transparency, and reduce the persistent delays associated with cargo clearance.
In a message circulated widely among industry stakeholders, the NSW management revealed that the new Support Centre is located at 34 Wharf Road, Apapa, a location chosen deliberately for its proximity to the largest concentration of port operations in the country.
The Centre is designed to serve freight forwarders, licensed customs agents, haulage operators, importers, exporters, terminal operators, and other actors across the supply chain who may encounter challenges while onboarding or navigating the platform.
According to the management, the Centre is furnished with trained personnel who will provide real-time guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and technical support to users as they familiarize themselves with the new system.
To ensure inclusivity and easy access for stakeholders outside Lagos or those unable to visit physically, the NSW Helpdesk has been activated across multiple communication channels.
Users can now seek support through:
• Telephone: 02018870011
• WhatsApp: 07047002215
• Email:  [helpdesk@nsw.gov.ng](mailto:helpdesk@nsw.gov.ng)
These channels, according to the management, operate with extended response capability to ensure timely resolution of enquiries and minimize disruptions to business activities.
The NSW management reiterated that the effectiveness of the platform depends heavily on users’ ability to onboard correctly and utilize its features as intended.
It therefore encouraged port operators to embrace the Support Centre and Helpdesk services, stressing that widespread adoption is crucial to accelerating Nigeria’s transition toward a more efficient, paperless trade environment.
The National Single Window is a Federal Government initiative designed to unify all port-related documentation, permits, licences, payments, and regulatory approvals on a single digital interface.
By connecting government agencies, shipping companies, terminal operators, and the trading public in one ecosystem, the platform aims to:
• Eliminate manual paperwork
• Reduce human interface and opportunities for corruption
• Shorten cargo dwell time
• Boost transparency and accountability
• Lower logistics costs
• Improve Nigeria’s competitiveness in regional and global trade
Its go-live signifies the movement from controlled pilot testing to full-scale commercial operations across the nation’s seaports, airports, border stations, and regulatory agencies.
Industry observers describe the launch and immediate activation of the dedicated Support Centre as a proactive measure, signaling the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring that the platform delivers on its promise.
With the NSW now operational, stakeholders anticipate improved cargo clearance timelines, enhanced predictability, and deeper integration of port processes into global digital trade norms.
The NSW management reaffirmed its readiness to provide continuous support, system upgrades, and user education initiatives as Nigeria enters a new phase of modernized trade facilitation.
