The Acting Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Command, Deputy Comptroller BL Adigun, has reinforced efforts to strengthen inter-agency collaboration with strategic courtesy visits to the Lagos Office of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Zonal Headquarters of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Zone A, Lagos.
The visits, which took place on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, form part of Adigun’s deliberate drive to deepen institutional partnerships, enhance operational efficiency and promote professionalism across the Nigeria Customs Service and its collaborating agencies.
While addressing officials of the ICPC, Adigun expressed appreciation to the Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner, Lagos, Mr. Chukwura Alexander, and his management team, stressing the importance of sustained collaboration in the fight against corruption.

“Strategic partnerships such as this are critical to combating corruption, strengthening internal control mechanisms and improving compliance across public institutions,” Adigun said. “When agencies work together, public confidence in government institutions is strengthened, and transparency and accountability are better entrenched in public service.”
In his response, Alexander described the visit as timely and strategic, commending the KLT Command for its forward-looking leadership and commitment to inter-agency engagement.
“Corruption thrives where institutions operate in silos. This visit clearly demonstrates the Acting CAC’s determination to bridge gaps between critical government agencies, and we commend the KLT Command for this proactive approach,” Alexander said.

He assured that the ICPC would continue to work closely with the Nigeria Customs Service, noting that sustained collaboration would further strengthen compliance and accountability.
“We remain committed to partnering with the Nigeria Customs Service to promote transparency, support integrity-driven initiatives and deepen public trust in our institutions,” he added.
At the Zonal Headquarters of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Zone A, Lagos, Adigun underscored the need for synergy among security and law enforcement agencies, particularly in addressing emerging security and operational challenges.
“No single agency can effectively tackle today’s security and operational challenges in isolation,” Adigun said. “Synergy, intelligence sharing and coordinated efforts are essential to strengthening national security and improving operational effectiveness.”
Responding, the Assistant Controller General, Zone A, Mr. Jude Agboje, described the visit as highly significant and praised the Acting CAC for his vision and commitment to collaboration.

“Partnerships like this enhance intelligence-led operations and promote efficiency across law enforcement institutions. We appreciate the KLT Command’s commitment, including its Corporate Social Responsibility project within our facility, which has had a positive and lasting impact, ” Agboje said.
He pledged continued cooperation between both agencies, saying, “We will continue to pursue joint initiatives, share expertise and support one another’s strategic objectives to achieve sustainable outcomes.”
