The Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) has kicked off the new year with a rallying call to players in the marine and blue economy, urging them to embrace stronger collaboration and deliver greater value as the industry enters what it describes as a defining year 2026.
In an inspiring New Year message, MARAN Chairman, Mr. Tunde Ayodele, declared 2026 a “year of greater impact,” challenging maritime operators, regulators, and journalists to raise the bar in service delivery and sector advocacy.
Ayodele credited the notable progress recorded in 2025 to the collective effort of stakeholders, emphasizing that unity remains the industry’s strongest tool.
“United, we can make Nigeria proud by contributing our quota to national development, each from our own little corner,” he said.
He reaffirmed MARAN’s commitment to deepening partnerships across the maritime value chain, noting that collaboration remains key to building a sector that Nigeria and the global maritime community can admire.
According to him, industry institutions, operators, and the media must work more closely in 2026 to amplify success stories, address challenges, and strengthen Nigeria’s maritime potential.
Ayodele also extended heartfelt appreciation to those who stood by the association in 2025, calling for renewed support as MARAN prepares for a more vibrant year.
“Thank you for your cooperation and support in 2025. Let us do it again in 2026,” Ayodele said.
He concluded with warm New Year wishes to members and stakeholders, expressing optimism that 2026 will unlock fresh opportunities and greater accomplishments for the nation’s maritime industry.
