Port Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) has welcomed a new Customs Area Controller as Comptroller Tenny Mankini Daniyan officially took charge on Friday. This move follows the elevation of the previous CAC, Saidu Abba Yusuf, to Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) of Customs.

During a brief handover ceremony, Comptroller Daniyan pledged to rigorously enforce the Nigeria Customs Service Act (NCSA) 2023. He emphasized his commitment to maximizing revenue collection and facilitating trade, promising to implement strategies to prevent revenue leakages and bolster the government’s economic objectives.

Daniyan, leveraging his extensive experience and previous role as Deputy Comptroller in charge of revenue at PTML, urged stakeholders to comply with regulations by making sincere declarations and timely duty payments. He highlighted the benefits of maintaining a track record of integrity to capitalize on opportunities provided by the Customs General Comptroller (CGC).

Reaffirming the CGC’s policy thrust, Daniyan vowed to enhance customs community relations through regular stakeholder engagements and initiatives like the Time Release Study (TRS). He also aims to guide compliant stakeholders towards achieving Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status and utilizing the Advanced Ruling scheme.

ACG Yusuf expressed gratitude for the CGC’s leadership and described Daniyan as a competent officer poised to elevate the command’s performance. He urged increased cooperation from importers, licensed customs agents, freight forwarders, and the management of Grimaldi with the new CAC.

Comptroller Daniyan’s distinguished career includes significant roles across various regions and departments within the Nigeria Customs Service. His extensive background encompasses positions in Sokoto, Kebbi, Apapa, Borno/Yobe, and the NCS Headquarters, among others.

An alumnus of Bendel State University (now Ambrose Alli University) and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Daniyan also holds a Masters in Facilities Management from the University of Lagos.

With a focus on education and professional development, Daniyan has served as an instructor for new customs recruits and is a member of the Nigeria Institute of Architects (MNIA). Outside of his professional endeavors, he enjoys football, chess, and golf.

ACG Yusuf has now assumed his new role in the Human Resources Department at the NCS Headquarters, confident that Daniyan will surpass previous achievements and advance the command’s objectives.
